they’re very interested in finding ways to tame it. Any turkey-hunting display or advertisement dealers create should incorporate recoil-control devices. It’s the touch that shows you really “get” what women need. Evans doesn’t do a huge business in accessories when selling to women, Blakeman says. “Women are pretty minimal on accessories,” he said. “They don’t buy a lot of calls or decoys, but they do buy camo accessories. You can’t be too minimal on camo because turkeys see so well.” Jim Appenzeller, owner of Jim’s Sports Heaven in Oconomowoc, Wis., says he can count quite a few avid women turkey hunters as part of his customer base. “Most women shoot 12- or 20-gauges in full-size models,” he said. Because Jim’s Sports Heaven offers full gunsmithing services, they are able to shorten shotgun stocks, giving women a custom fit. The most popular turkey shotguns at Jim’s are the Remington 11-87, Mossberg 500 in the youth size and the Mossberg Model 835. He also notes that he does a brisk business in used Remington 1100s. Appenzeller finds women make the investment into accessories at his store. “We sell lots of decoys and turkey calls, but we don’t carry clothing,” he said. .308 chrome-lined bArrel, longer life, eAsier cleAning strAight gAs tUbe resists bending, better Alignment mil std 1913 stAnAg 4694 compliAnt rAil spAce Ar10 mAgAZine compAtible AmbidextroUs sAfetY selector And mAgAZine releAse AdJUstAble sights to fit YoUr reQUirements sopmod collApsing bUttstock, 6 position Arms and the woman All bArrels And bolts Are proof-tested And mAgnetic-pArticle-inspected to mil-spec stAndArds monolithic rAil design thAt Allows the AbilitY to chAnge bArrel length, operAting sYstems And cAlibers with the tUrn of two locking bolts 7 Qd sling swiVel AttAchment points You Get What You PaY For!
