Hunting Heritage Trust Honors Academy T he Hunting Heritage Trust presented its Heritage Partner Award to the Shooting Industry Academy of Excellence “for its leadership and generosity in creating a special auction in support of America’s hunting and shooting sports heritage.” Each year the Academy of Excellence recognizes outstanding products, services and individuals in the industry. Last year, in partnership with the Hunting Heritage Trust, manufacturers of the winning products were invited to have those products featured in a special “Saluting the Best” auction on Gunbroker.com, with proceeds benefiting the Trust. “The Hunting Heritage Trust is genuinely proud to be affiliated with this industryleading program, and we greatly appreciate the support it has provided for efforts to promote and defend our hunting and shooting sports heritage,” said Bob Delfay, president of the Hunting Heritage Trust. “We are looking forward to the 2011 event and to even greater participation by Academy of Excellence product award winners.” The program with the Hunting Heritage Trust is the first partnership the Academy has authorized in its 20-year history. “One of the key objectives of our Academy of Excellence awards is to offer welldeserved recognition for those manufacturers that have brought exciting new products to the marketplace,” said Randy Molde, director of the Academy. “This new partnership with the Hunting Heritage Trust and the opportunity to have our winning products featured on Gunbroker.com is a perfect addition to our program. It will provide visibility for our winning manufacturers, and generate support for the Hunting Heritage Trust. At the same time, the auction will make GunBroker.com’s three million unique monthly visitors aware of award-winning outdoor equipment.” Academy of Excellence award winners that participated in the Saluting the Best auction on Gunbroker.com included Benchmade Knives, Brownell’s, Crimson Trace, GunVault, Hornady, Leupold & Stevens and Ruger. The 2011 Academy of Excellence awards will be presented July 22 in Bowling Green, Ky., in conjunction with the Shooting Industry Masters.
