2010 SHOT Show Auction Yields $15,100 he 2010 SHOT Show Auction raised more than $15,100 to support America’s hunting and shooting sports heritage. Coordinated by the Hunting Heritage Trust in conjunction with NSSF, the auction featured the four millionth Savage Model 110 and the 10,000,001st Remington Model 870. When the bidding ended on the final day of the show, officials announced that bidding on the Savage topped out at $5,691 and the Remington bidding reached $9,500. One bidder, who asked that his name be withheld, was highest bidder on both guns. T Taurus Honored By Florida Business Groups aurus International received two awards at the South Florida Manufacturer’s Association (SFMA) Award of Excellence banquet in March. Composed of more than 11,500 manufacturers, the SFMA annually recognizes outstanding manufacturers and their employees. At the banquet, Bob Morrison, president and CEO of Taurus, was named 2010 Employee of the Year in the administration and accounting category. “This singular recognition caught me off guard. Noting the high-ranking and dignified competitors in this category, I am especially honored to realize the excellence and meaning of this outstanding award,” Morrison said. Taurus International was also recognized in the 2010 Manufacturer of the Year category, being named one of three finalists. This is the second time Taurus has received this distinction. “To be considered as finalists in such heady competition is unbelievable. Taurus is pleased to be recognized for its hard work that reflects every single employee’s devotion to their job, inventiveness and dedication to excellence,” Morrison said. Taurus also was honored with the International Commerce Award from the Beacon Council at a banquet in April. The council annually honors Miami-Dade County’s most prominent businesses and organizations for their significant contributions to the local economy. “Our expansion in the community gives us the opportunity to place more and more employees at Taurus, and allows us to adopt them and their families into our wonderful firm. The strong growth and extension of our business has been an exciting chapter in our history, and this recognition by the Beacon Council is very rewarding,” Morrison said.
