SI DIGITAL Manufacturers’ New Product Offerings Start 2010 Off With A Bang! ere is our second look at manufacturers’ offerings for the new business year, from firearms and optics to ammunition and accessories. This sneak peek will help you maximize the new year buying season. These new products, along with information on SHOT Show 2010, including our Exhibitors Guide, provide the industry with invaluable information to begin the new year. Hot Link emington’s Model 700 XCRII has an improved TriNyte corrosion-control finish and an OD-green stock with Black Hogue Overmold grip panels. It’s available in numerous calibers. The Model 700 VTR, in .223 Rem. and .308 Win., features the new A-Tacs Camo. Remington adds the .450 Bushmaster chambering to its R-15 offerings. The .22 LR Model 597 VTR is now available with a kit, developed to accept modular repeating rifle accessories, including an A-2 stock, collapsible stock, A-2 grip and freefloat tubes. In shotguns, Remington introduces the 12-ga. Model 870 SPS ShurShot Turkey Predator, featuring black rubber Overmolded grip panels on a ShurShot stock and forend, Mossy Oak Obsession coverage and a Tru-Glo Red/Green sight. The 12-ga. Model 870 Express SuperMag Turkey/Waterfowl has a 26" barrel and Mossy Oak Bottomland coverage. The 12-ga. Model 11-87 Sportsman SuperMag Turkey has a 23" barrel, grey rubber Overmolded grip panels on a ShurShot stock and forend and Realtree APGHD camo. The 12-ga. Model 887 Tactical has an 18 1/2" barrel with a Rem-Choke Ported Ext Tactical choke, Hi-Viz fiber optic (interchangeable) front sight, two-shot magazine tube extension, barrel clamp with milled-in integral Picatinny rail and SuperCell recoil pad. The 12-ga. Model 887 Camo combo has a 28" barrel with Rem-Choke Waterfowl Ext choke, and a 22" Hi-Viz Rifle Sight barrel with Turkey Super Full choke. For 2010, Remington offers the 870 Express Tactical with full coverage of 870 SPS ShurShot Turkey Predator Model 700 XCRII ATACS Camo. Packaged for new customers in the self-defense category, the Ultimate Home Defense Pistol & Revolver Ammunition is available in 9mm, .380 Auto, .38 Spl., .40 S&W and .45 Auto. The Disintegrator CTF, previously only in the law-enforcement line, is now available for commercial sales. In Premier Copper Solid Hunting Ammunition, Remington adds .30-30 Win., .30-06 Sprg., .300 Win. Mag. and .300 Rem. Ultra Mag. A new loading in Core-Lokt rifle ammunition is the .30 Remington AR, with a 150-gr. Core-Lokt PSP bullet. The 450 Bushmaster, with AccuTip Bonded Bullet, features a Power Port tip in a .45 260-gr. slug. Remington also adds the .338 Marlin Express, with a .250-gr. soft-point bullet. In shotgun ammunition, Remington announces HyperSonic Steel, featuring the new Turbo Jet Wad. The wad has an ignition chamber, which allows for higher velocity with safe pressures, and Stress Concentrators, which initiate petal splitting. The 12-ga. load offers a velocity of 1,700 fps, and will be offered in 10 SKUs. New in the Ultimate Home Defense line is the 410 Buckshot Load, designed for use in the Taurus Judge, with new packaging.
