Trust Continues Mission Of Good Gun Foundation T he board of directors of the Good Gun Foundation has selected Hunting Heritage Trust Inc. to receive its assets and carry on its educational and communications mission after deciding to discontinue its fundraising and program efforts. “The Good Gun Foundation had partnered with the Hunting Heritage Trust in the past. We are familiar with their objectives and their management and are very confident they will support efforts that are consistent with the former mission of the Good Gun Foundation,” said foundation president Bryan Tucker. Since its founding in 2002, the Hunting Heritage Trust has awarded a variety of grants in support of public education, youth programs, shooting safety, women’s hunting and shooting outreach, and other programs. “Our two organizations shared a strong belief in the importance of providing the American public with a positive message on responsible firearms ownership and use. We will proudly pursue that mission with this Good Gun Foundation support,” said Bob Delfay, president of the trust. For more information, call (860) 417 6197 or visit www.huntingheritagetrust.org. Winchester Ammunition Supports Youth Programs T he Youth Shooting Sports Alliance (YSSA) recently partnered with Winchester Ammunition to provide all of the rimfire and shotshell ammunition requested in support of the 2008 priority youth shooting sports programs. Winchester Ammunition provided ammunition to several priority programs. These were the Alaska Dept. of Fish & Game Hunter Education Shooting Range; South Carolina 4-H Shooting Sports; the Mobile (Ala.) Area Council, Boy Scouts of America; the Mt. Diablo Silverado Council, Boy Scouts of America in Pleasant Hill, Calif.; and Calhoun County 4-H Shooting Sports in Pittsboro, Miss. “Winchester Ammunition is proud to support the needs of successful youth programs that create measurable improvements in youth participation in the shooting sports,” said Greg Kosteck, director of marketing for the company. Winchester Ammunition has taken a prominent role in support of youth shooting sports by making a $500,000 pledge in April 2007 to permanently endow what is now the Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification Program, which helps young people develop their shooting skills and grow their interest in the shooting sports. Winchester Ammunition also supports Ronald McDonald House Charities as the National Title Sponsor of the Kids & Clays Foundation. For more information, visit www. winchester.com.
