With 2 1/2" barrels, the revolvers feature a matte-black, lightweight Scandium frame; black stainless PVD (physical vapor deposition) cylinder; Pachmayr Compac Custom grip; XS 24/7 Standard Dot Tritium front sight; and the new Cylinder & Slide Extreme Duty fixed rear sight. The Night Guard revolvers will available in March 2008. S&W is extending its family of Classic Series revolvers with the 6 1/2" Model 24, chambered in .44 S&W Special; the 6 1/2" Model 25, chambered in .45 Long Colt; the 4" and 6 1/2" Model 27, chambered in .357 S&W Mag./.38 S&W Special; and the 4" Model 29, chambered in .44 Mag./.44 S&W Special. In its long-gun line, Smith & Wesson is adding a stainless version of the i-Bolt bolt-action rifle. The i-Bolt Stainless will be available in .25-06, .270 Win., .30-06 Win., 7mm Mag. and .300 Win. Mag. It features a box-style magazine and a Realtree AP synthetic stock. Smith & Wesson also will debut three editions to its line of M&P tactical rifles chambered in 5.56mm/.223.
