Beretta Announces Contracts, L.E. Program B eretta U.S.A. has been awarded a contract to supply 1,000 Benelli Nova Tactical shotguns to the Georgia State Patrol. It is the largest single sale ever of Benelli shotguns to a law enforcement agency, say company officials. As a part of the contract, Beretta provided extensive armorer and transitional training to the agency. “The Nova Tactical shotgun incorporates an advanced magazine cut-off feature that allows our officers to quickly transition the shotgun to patrol safe after deployment — enhancing the overall safety of both officers and the community,” said Lt. Scott D. Johnson, deputy director, Georgia State Patrol Training Division. Beretta also has received orders from the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy for 10,576 M9 pistols (5,969 for the Army, 4,607 for the Navy). The purchase orders were issued against a multiyear contract between Beretta U.S.A. and the U.S. Army, which serves as executive purchasing agent of the M9 pistol for all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces. In other news, Beretta has launched Project Allegiance. Through the program, Beretta will offer active-duty law enforcement officers who purchase any Beretta Px4 Storm pistol a $10,000 line-of-duty death benefit, valid for three years, at no cost to the officer and his or her family. This benefit is available to local, state and federal law enforcement officers in the United States and its territories except in areas where prohibited by law. It does not require any medical exam and can be quickly activated by completing a simple activation card provided at the time of purchase. Law enforcement agencies that decide to issue Beretta Px4 Storm pistols will also qualify for the death benefit offer. “In addition to delivering a $10,000 line-of-duty death benefit, Project Allegiance will provide survivors of a fallen officer free counseling, legal and financial advice to help them when they need it most,” said Christopher Merritt, Beretta general manager. Life Insurance Company of North America underwrites the line-of-duty benefit. For more information, call 1-800-237-3882 or visit www.berettausa.com.
