Industry news Winchester Announces Hammett’s Retirement, O’Keefe As New President ichard M. Hammett will retire from Winchester Ammunition, effective Feb. 28, 2011. Winchester veteran Thomas J. O’Keefe became the new president on Jan. 1. Hammett spent the last 42 years with Olin Corp. in a variety of finance, marketing and senior management roles. He was named president of the Winchester Division of Olin in September 2002. “I have been privileged to carry on Winchester’s longstanding commitment to America’s sportsmen, as well as the men and women in uniform who protect this great nation,” Hammett said. “It’s been a great honor to work for Winchester, a company that is respected throughout the world as a leader.” O’Keefe has been with Olin Corp. since 1980. He began as a supervisory trainee following graduation from the University of Missouri-Rolla with bachelor and master’s degrees in metallurgical engineering. In 2006, he was appointed vice president of manufacturing operations for Winchester, and assumed additional responsibility for business planning in 2008. “All of us on the Winchester team have been very fortunate to work with Dick Hammett over the years.
