New Products By Roxanne Smith 2012 C SIG SAUER ompanies throughout the industry are finalizing their 2012 new product offerings, eager to help dealers maximize the New Business Year buying season. The following pages present the latest new products our industry has to offer, arming dealers with the information they need for 2012. The January issue will present additional new product offerings. Initial offerings include an Extreme edition, SAS, Equinox and Nickel finishes. The P224 holds 11 rounds of 9mm, and 10 rounds of .357 SIG and .40 S&W. The U.S. Navy has designated the P226 Navy as the MK25. It features a Nitron-coated stainless steel slide and black hard coat anodized frame. All controls and internal components have MilSpec phosphate coating. Pistol comes with three magazines, a true 1913-spec accessory rail, an engraved anchor on the slide and a UID identification label and T certificate of authenticity. The 1911 Fastback features a stainless steel frame with rounded grip and mainspring housing. Pistol features matchgrade barrel, hammer/sear set and trigger. The first model will be full-size and carry versions of the 1911 Nightmare Fastback, which features black Nitron coating and Black Double Diamond G10 stocks. SIG’s 551 platform rifle is now available in the U.S. The SIG551-A1 is chambered in 5.56 NATO, uses original Swiss polymer magazines, and features a gray finish and original Swiss folding stock and M1913 rail. The 16-inch barrel features fourgroove, 1:7-inch rifling to match NATOspec ammunition. Rifle is 36.1-inches long and can fold to 26 inches. The next generation of the SIG 1911 Nightmare Fastback P224 .40 S&W 551-A1 SAUER 556 rifle platform, the SIG556xi Series, brings the twoposition, short-stroke gas pushrod to a true AR platform rifle. Features include free-floating forearm, removable chrome-lined, nitride-coated barrels and 7075-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum forged lower.
