Swarovski Announces Direct Sales Force warovski Optik North America announces a new sales structure that will include its own sales representatives employed by the company. In addition, an increased capacity in the company’s customer service department is designed to strengthen its new sales structure. Presently, Swarovski serves the U.S. market through its Authorized Dealer Network. Beginning Jan. 1, 2012, the network will extend into Canada. The direct sales force also will be in place on Jan. 1. “This change in our business model was based on the desire for us to be even closer to our market, our dealers and consumers,” said Albert Wannenmacher, CEO of Swarovski Optik North America. Quail Forever Forecasts Tougher Hunting Season combination of unfavorable conditions, from drought in the south to hard winters further north and continued habitat loss, will make the 2011-2012 quail-hunting season tough on hunters, according to Quail Forever. There are 5 million fewer Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) acres, many of which were quail habitat, than there were four years ago, according to Quail Forever. The organization advocates for a strengthened CRP and other federal conservation programs in preparation for the upcoming Farm Bill. Despite the overall decline, coveys of quail are still accessible to hunters willing to do some walking, says the advocacy organization. The quail “breadbasket” of Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas still provide the best numbers of bobwhites. In the southeast, habitat improvements are helping, and numbers for all western quail species are strong across the board.
