Celebrate The Industry With Laughter HOT Show officials are once again holding a State of the Industry DinnerConcert Gala on the first night of the show, Jan. 15. The event will include a cocktail reception, dinner, a State of the Industry report and awards presentation, followed by entertainment. “We have something new for the State of the Industry dinner this year,” Mannuzza said. “In the past, we’ve always had singers, but the response from our survey has been that people would like to see a comedian. So we’ve been very fortunate to get Bill Engvall to perform. He’s very good, he’s clean and we really like him.” Engvall stars in and produces “The Bill Engvall Show,” which airs on TBS, and is host of one of the top-rated shows on CMT, “Country Fried Home Videos.” He has been nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album, is a multi-platinum recording artist and has written several books including his autobiography, “Bill Engvall — Just A Guy.” When planning your ticket reservations, keep in mind this event requires as- S signed seating at tables of 10. If you add guests after your initial order, they may not be sitting at your table. Priority seating is given to NSSF members, followed by the date of your order. Tickets are $90 each or $850 for a table of 10. Visit www.shotshow.org to order tickets. Bill Engvall Get On The Show Floor Quickly he registration procedure for the show continues to evolve. Currently more than 90 percent of attendees register online. “This year, again, we’re offering the Express Badge system on the SHOT Show Web site,” Mannuzza said. “Attendees who use this system will register online, then bring their bar code to the show to be scanned to have their badge printed. For the those who wish to have their badges mailed to them, we have that option, also.” The last day for attendees to register and receive their badge in the mail is Jan. 2, 2009. For those who register through Jan. 12, the fee is $20 per badge. For those who T register from Jan. 13 through the Jan 15, the cost is $50 per badge. “Each year we’re streamlining the process so people have to stand in line less and less,” Mannuzza said. “This way you come in and get on the show floor as quickly as possible.” To register, visit www.shotshow.org. As they have in recent years, NSSF officials will be honoring the industry’s “Big Shots” dealers. “Dealers who have come to the SHOT Show five out of the last eight years are designated Big Shots. This tells us they have a commitment to their businesses and to the SHOT Show, and that they are loyal partners of ours. Big Shots will each have a unique button,” Mannuzza said. Show organizers are working with the catering provider to offer valuable discounts and coupons to reward Big Shots. • SHOT SHOW SUPER ISSUE 2009 Are You A Big Shot?
