Doublestar Builds New Manufacturing Facilty oubleStar Corp., a manufacturer of AR-15 rifles and accessories, recently completed construction of a 13,000-squarefoot manufacturing facility and warehouse in the Winchester (Ky.) Industrial Park. The new facility supplements the company’s existing 13,500 square feet of warehouse and manufacturing buildings in rural Winchester. “Business for DoubleStar and J&T Distributing, our tactical shooting accessories division, has really taken off in the past couple of years,” said DoubleStar Vice President Jesse Starnes. “Increasing our warehouse and manufacturing space enables us to better control inventory to meet customer demand.” “Supplying high-quality, American-made products with quick turnaround is key to keeping our customers happy,” Starnes said. “This is especially important in the law enforcement and military markets, which are major components of our business.” The new facility will house CNC machines, assembly cells, warehouse space and additional offices for engineering, design and administrative staff. The parts inventory for J&T Distributing will be relocated to the new facility, freeing up more manufacturing space for DoubleStar in the existing building. The addition also gives the companies dedicated space for research and development of new products. D “With our increased manufacturing capacity and more time and space dedicated to R&D, we’re looking forward to the development of new products for our ARs,” Starnes said. “Our new four-rail oval handguard is one recent example of what that investment can yield. Business has increased nearly 40 percent in the past year, and we really want to maintain and hopefully improve that level of growth.” For more information, visit www.star15.com.
