Industry news llett Brothers has selected the Youth Shooting Sports Alliance (YSSA) to receive $25,000, which was raised during a silent auction held in conjunction with the 2012 Annual Ellett Brothers Dealer Showcase in Columbia, S.C., in January. According to Ellett Brothers, thanks to generous vendor donations and dealer participation, the national distributor has raised over $68,000 since 2009 for the YSSA. “The contributions and support received from the Ellett Brothers family has enabled the Youth Shooting Sports Alliance to overcome many of the limiting factors to the growth of youth shooting sports programs nationwide, which are attributable to (lack of) equipment and supplies,” said Steve Miller, YSSA executive director. Mark V rifles had been manufactured in Brainerd, Minn., since 1999. “By going in-house, we can more easily oversee and control all aspects of craftsmanship, production, quality control and shipping,” said Ed Weatherby, company president. Weatherby introduced the Mark V action in 1958. The first Mark V models were made in the company’s facility in South Gate, Calif.
